Ep. 482 – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Part 1)

On this episode we further our quest to play and discuss every Castlevania game, and this one is a big one. Foretold years ago by the Necromancer Shaft, TADPOG would do at least two episodes of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Many heroes stepped up to go on this journey and those chosen today are one-half of TADPOG’s Sweethearts Josh Nance and Ruby on Rails Baron Paul Clewell. We have chosen our healing potions in the form of stout beer from Kevin Link. We sharpen our blades and manage to keep on track so we can give this game its due, and we also create the hero we all deserve. Cooter Belmont.

Ep. 481 – Cuphead

Hot dawg! We figured that this was a good week for a swell podcast about Cuphead, the run-and-gunner by StudioMDHR. While this game may have released in 2017, it is undeniably retro-inspired. We talk about the game but we also talk about cartoons in general, and  we take a Boss Rush quiz which was submitted by Quizmaster Matt. As if that’s not enough, we are joined by Coco (aka CocoConfession on Twitch) to help us talk about the finer points of the game!

Ep. 480 – Fallout 4 Downloadable Content

Did you not get enough of our popular Fallout 4 episodes that eventually people started to complain about since there were so many? You’re in luck! We do a TODPOG episode over every little bit of the Fallout 4 DLC. Just to make sure we cover everything we bring on Drinksmith Joey Webster and Ross Rachel-Green of the Nothing to Play podcast. We eat some weird and spicy foods courtesy of Kevin Link of Super Bomberman 2 fame. Ross tells a very British bathroom story. Joey celebrates his TADPOGiversary. Ep. 479 – Cosmic Star Heroine

Hey! We got review copies of Cosmic Star Heroine for the Nintendo Switch courtesy of Zeboyd Games. So we bring on our hardcore heroine expert Saint Zach. We open some packages. WE DO A MOSTLY SPOILER FREE REVIEW of this game, we only flub up on a few very minor points. Bovine Bear Quizmaster Matt gives us a Heroine Quiz and Zach treats you to his bird story for a stinger. We’re joined by Ben Caruth of Street Pizza and Shaun Muldowney of Nerdy Thursday to talk about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. We take a skateboarding quiz by Quiz Master Matt Cowan, and we actually talk about real skateboarding too! There are announcements for TADPOG Prom 2019 and for an upcoming TADPOG Nation Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament, and Tyler makes an important personal announcement as well.

Ep. 477 – Castlevania: Rondo of Blood

This week we’re talking about Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (or as it’s know in Japan, Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo), the 1993 platforming-adventure game for the NEC PC Engine CD. We take a Halloween quiz that was sent in by Quizmaster Bovine Bear Matt Cowan. We answer a few voicemails. Do you like talk about kids and Halloween costumes? What about when we eat incredibly spicy things? THIS EPISODE HAS SOME OF THAT!

Ep. 476 – Castlevania: Dracula X

So today we talk about that super popular and beloved game, Castlevania: Dracula X! What? You don’t know what this is? It’s not so beloved? Well, we still have first-time guest host Blumpkin Bear Sean Berry on to tell us about his penis travesty alongside some Dracula X commentary. Meanwhile, Tyler goes to the pharmacy and Dave goes to the Fall Festival. Also, homeless people talk. So check out some stories and a deep dive into the shallow pool that is Dracula X.

We strap on our homemade jet packs and join Sparkster to crush the swine army in Konami’s Rocket Knight Adventures, the 1993 platformer and scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis. Tyler has the B-A-L-L-S to share an Epic Dollar General story, and we take a Rocket Knight Adventures themed quiz from Bovine Bear Quiz Master Matt Cowan.

Color a dinosaur? Well, are you expecting much this week? Neither are we. For this episode we are going to tackle the NES game “Color a Dinosaur” released in…1993. Hmm. We do talk about all the ins and outs of this “entertainment video game” where you color something considered a dinosaur. But there are plenty of tangents and even a call or two. Just try it!
