Ep. 432 – Gradius

This week we’re firing up the Vic Viper’s engines and talking about Gradius for the NES. We assure you that there is game talk but we also take some time to open an incredible package from Terrified Michelle. There’s grousing about office Christmas parties. There are spoiler-free opinions on The Last Jedi. We come up with concepts for new t-shirts. And there is a Starship quiz.

Ep. 431 – Ghosts ‘n Goblins

Being the wise and courageour podcasters that we are, we feel strongth welling in our bodies. This feeling can only mean one thing: it’s time to talk about Ghosts ‘n Goblins, the 1986 Capcom platformer for the NES. We also talk about difficult games in general, QTPi “mearch”, sexual miscommunications, and Dave administers a “Ghosts or Goblins” quiz.

Ep. 430 – Galaga

We’re talking about Galaga, the 1981 sequel to Galaxian on this episode. Specifically, we’re talking about the bemusingly-named NES port “Galaga: Demons of Death”. We’re recording in a new studio, hereforth known as Blanket Oasis. We talk about the upcoming meet-up (aka TADPOG Prom) at the 2018 Louisville Arcade Expo. There are two quizzes: a Gal Quiz and an Alien Bugs Quiz, and we wrap things up by answering listener voicemail.

Ep. 429 – Final Fantasy

We, TADPOG, will knock you all down!! Just kidding! We just want to podcast about Final Fantasy, the 1987 role-playing game for the NES. We’ve formed our four-person Party of Light by inviting Josh Nance (of Uniracers fame) and Drew Rowland of (Hops and Heroes fame) to guest-host. This is a game-heavy episode for sure, but don’t worry there is a “Weird Final Fantasy Syllable Replacement Quiz”.

Ep. 428 – Excitebike

This week we’re talking about Excitebike, the 1985 NES racing game by Nintendo. That’s right. You could say we’re back on track (har-har) to play through the 30 games on the NES Classic. Don’t worry, we also come up with Fantastic Four employment parallels, we talk about the middle school overall craze, there’s a Bike Quiz, and we answer listener voicemail.

Ep. 427 – Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse

We take up arms and storm Dracula’s tower on this episode of the podcast where we try to deliver just the wettest Castlevania III conversation that you can imagine. When we’re not talking about whips, stairs and monsters, we’re talking about making friends, inappropriate Facebook posts, and we open a listener package from Executive Producer Janie. Ep. 425 – Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!

Now let’s come out boxing! So far we’ve been playing through the NES Classic games alphabetically, but for this episode we’re switching up the order for a special reason. Drew Rowland (long-time listener, fellow podcaster and friend of the show) is tying the knot with Bailey (of Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker fame) this week! Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! is one of Drew’s favorite games of all time, so we’ve decided to talk about it and it’s rerelease, Punch-Out!! (with Mr. Dream), in honor of the upcoming nuptials.
