Ep. 413 – Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Over the last four years we’ve played through IGN’s Top 100 SNES Games of All Time, Dorkly’s Top 25 N64 Games, and this episode marks the end of our journey through Digital Trends’ 25 Best Sega Genesis Games. We wrap the list up with DT’s number one pick: Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It’s a platformer developed by Sega…you might have heard of it. We also announce the next list we’ll be tackling, we double up on quizzes, there’s a story about bears and pancakes, and even a review of the new Coke Zero Sugar.

Ep. 412 – Sesame Street Fighter

So, here it is. The “missing” episode where we talk about Sesame Street Fighter by flavourmachine. We recorded this bad boy back in January and it’s finally seeing the light of day. Why the delay? Well. The audio sucks (Internal Mike strikes again). But hey, if you like your podcast episodes extra grungy and “underground” then you might appreciate the audio quality (or lack thereof) of this episode. Naturally we talk about the game but we also talk about butt shelves. Butt shelves.

Ep. 411 – Samurai Shodown

This is a game-heavy episode, which we guess is okay because it’s “technically” a “video game podcast”. Anyway, we’re talking about Samurai Shodown, the second-ranked game on Digital Trends’ list of 25 Best Sega Genesis games. Do not worry, we also talk about tee-ball.

Ep. 410 – Super Street Fighter II

We’re back on the Digital Trends list this week—which can only mean one thing—it’s time for Super Street Fighter II for the Sega Genesis. We talk about the game for a bit, but more importantly, we try a Marmite grilled cheese sandwich. We also open a listener package, pee in Swift the fox’s mouth, and brainstorm some charity stream ideas.

Ep. 409 – Call of Cthulhu (Actual Play Part 7)

It is late in the day on August 8, 1977. The investigators have finally dealt with the monstrous Harvey, saved the neighborhood children from their imminent demise, and—left with no other option—have contacted Mr. Zeus of the CIA and the Knights Templar to inform him of their situation. This recording picks up in Mr. Zeus’s vehicle while en route to his temple.

Ep. 408 – Call of Cthulhu (Actual Play Part 6)

The date is August 8th, 1977. Investigators Brock Malone, Donna Jackson, and Alex “Chili Dog” Peterson have just had a horrific encounter with the dog known as Harvey, the alleged messenger to the Son of Sam. The investigators fled after Harvey revealed his true form, leaving their only lead in a flaming New York City alley. Left with dwindling options, the investigators decide to track down someone who might be their strongest ally or their worst enemy.

Ep. 407 – Shining Force II (Part 2)

Hi, we’re just two boys taking a break from the equinarium long enough to record an NSFW podcast episode about a tactical RPG. Yep, that’s right—we’re still gushing about Shining Force II, DigitalTrends’ fourth-ranked best Sega Genesis game. We open a package we received from Pinball Archmage Chris Edler and then talk about anthropomorphic animals who fight devils. Additionally, Tyler tries to shed his spider-sense by having his yes-yes hole washed out.

Ep. 406 – Call of Cthulhu (Actual Play Part 5)

The date is August 8th in the early hours of the morning. The investigators have recently had their minds broken and remolded into actual reality. Brock, Donna and Chili Dog now leave the Process Church—exhausted, broken and worried—and are on the way to investigate a necessary lead at the respective apartments of Steve and Ian, the owners of Studio 54. There will be skill ups!

Ep. 405 – Call of Cthulhu (Actual Play Part 4)

The date is August 7, 1977. It is late into the night. The investigators have infiltrated the Process Church and have found their way through a locked room into a secret basement leading into darkness. The investigators can hear the sound of running water and quiet muttering echoing from deep within. A trap door reveals a carved stone staircase that descends into darkness. THERE WILL BE COMBAT.

Ep. 404 – Shining Force II (Part 1)

It’s been awhile since the Suicide Boys have discussed something from Digital Trends’ list of best Sega Genesis games, but here we are talking about Shining Force II. This 1993 tactical role-playing game is one of Tyler’s favorites and is a completely new experience for Dave. There’s actually lots of game talk in this episode but also a lot of catching up and announcements. Tyler blows Dave’s mind with a skin-related revelation, we open what we think is candy, and Dave plugs the Twitch channel a lot.
